Why is a good story so important?

Telling a good story can help you keep your readers and followers engaged. While it is not exactly a science, there are certain things that speak to people universally. How to Incorporate Stories Into Journalism

A mentor and teacher of mine once told me that, “Journalism takes time, patience, and an understanding of people.” She is right – yet the amount of time people spend reading is rapidly decreasing due to the fact that we live in a digital world. This means that stories must be told effectively, with enough detail and interest that someone won't click away from it.

What is Story, and What is a Storyteller?

Simply put, a storyteller is someone who creates a narrative with high production value in a specific medium. Yet this is incredibly hard to do in today's world. High production value doesn't matter all that much if it can't reel someone in. A 7-second video can get a like based on its ability to hook someone instantly; a storyteller must generate interest as quickly as a social media post does if they want to be successful.
